Toni Schmader holds the Canada Research Chair in Social Psychology at the University of British Columbia, where she is also director of the university’s Social Identity Lab.  Her research examines the interplay between self and social identity, particularly when one’s social identity is accorded lower status or is targeted by negative stereotypes in academic or work settings.
